Finland and debt-crisis riddled Greece faired the worse, with drops of 64.5% and 56.7% respectively. Some of the Eastern Europe countries of Hungary, Estonia, Czech Republic, Poland and Latvia also posted the best figures in terms of new car sales – with growth ranging from 15.8% to 6.7 %. Germany, Luxemburg, Slovakia and Latvia also saw growth in car sales numbers. Overall the EU saw a decrease in car sales numbers of 6.9% compared to the same month last year.
A few car makers saw growth in their overall figures. Leading the way was JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) with group car sales figures up by 29.3% on the same time last year. Kia (19.1% growth), Hyundai (0.3%), Mercedes (+0.7%), BMW (+3.4% - although slightly less for BMW group due to falls in Mini sales), Lancia / Chrysler (+7.7%), Jeep (+27.5%), Chevrolet (+22.6%), Citroen (+4.8%), Skoda (+3.3%) and Audi (+3.9%) saw rises in car sales year on year.
Perhaps not surprisingly it was some of the brands with smaller market shares such as Jeep (0.2% market share) that found it easier to achieve impressive sales growth. Brands holding much larger market share such as Volkswagen have not been able to get close to these figures. Other manufacturing groups saw mixed results. For example PSA Group saw sales in Citroen rise considerably whilst sales of Peugeot sales decreased.
Whilst a wave of optimism sweeps the media in the UK regarding sales figures many showrooms will want to continue to post strong sales results. Cash buyers will no doubt continue to be in the strongest position when negotiating the purchase of a new vehicle.

( 0 / 0 )General Motors have opted to save the Ellesmere Port plant in order to produce the new Astra model, beginning in around 2015. The American car owners (Opel, the UK division of GM) had grown concerned last year that they were producing more cars than they could sell. However workforce leaders and the British government appear to have persuaded the Vauxhall brands owners that they should continue to develop and invest in the plant.
The workforce at Ellesmere Port has been producing 47 cars an hour, which constitutes a group record. The threat of closure had originally been hanging over two European car production plants within the group.
Unions and workers were willing to work more flexible hours and through the year to ensure maximum efficiency could be reached at the plant. The possibility arose originally that the plant in Bochum, German could take on the new Astra model. It is now feasible that the new Chevrolet car will be built at the German plant, rather than in Asia.
The British government has stated that no money has been offered to the car maker by them, although there are various government initiatives in the UK that the car maker may be able to tap into.
This good news story continues to feed a recent wave of optimism amongst the UK’s new car market, following impressive figures announced by Land Rover and Jaguar (JLR), owned by Tata.
In additional positive news, further investment has gone into human resources at Aston Martins headquarters in Warwickshire, with over 200 new employees taken on in recent times.

( 0 / 0 )When it comes to selling your car , you have quite a few options. You can trade in your automobile or you can try and sell it yourself.
If you sell your car privately this can assure you won’t take anything but top money for your car. But to sell privately you must be aware of the work involved. Prepping your automobile for sale will cost you time and money. A spot on the carpet here, some trim that’s come off –it all needs to be replace before you can snag a buyer.
You must also decide how much your car is worth. It’s hard to convince people that you aren’t giving them a lemon. There is a liability with selling your car privately, that you must be willing to take on. Placing ads is one of the best ways to sell your car. This will cost you money. You must also be able to field the phone traffic from people calling about the ad.
There is also the planning to meet interested parties and to let them test drive your car. Then comes the negotiating, how low are you willing to go on price? It can be extremely difficult to handle a few possible buyers. One of them will try and go for very low on price. Knowing how much you’re willing to sacrifice before you go into a sale is our best piece of advice.
Banking may also be a problem. If someone wants to pay via money order or credit card, be weary of it. Take cash only, which many people aren’t willing to do any longer.
Doesn’t selling your car privately sound fun? Well, to us it sounds like a lot of work. Cut out all of the time and money and just fill out our form. We will come pick your car up and hand you cash. Simple as that.

( 3 / 17 )When it's time to upgrade your car then you want to sell the old one as quickly as possible without compromising on price.
Follow our ten tips for selling your car quickly to make sure you get the best deal possible in the shortest space of time.
Tip 1
If you want a quick sale then make sure you don't price your car out of the market. Of course you want to get as much as you can for your vehicle but if your price is too high, you simply won't get a sale.
Tip 2
If your car has outstanding finance, lots of the bigger companies won't buy it, so if you want to sell your car to one of these or privately you'll have to get the finance in order first.
Tip 3
If you're advertising your car privately, make sure your advert isn't overblown. Making your car out to be better than it is might get a few people interested but once they see that your vehicle isn't all you said it was you'll lose the sale.
Tip 4
Make sure you include all the relevant facts in car ads like the make, model and reg year of your car.
Tip 5
If you're selling your car for spares, or if it needs a lot of repairs, include everything that needs doing on the receipt so you'll have no repercussions after the sale.
Tip 6
Keep all your car documents to hand and make sure you have all the necessary paperwork in place to avoid a sale falling through because of a missing MOT certificate.
Tip 7
When you're selling privately then potential buyers will want to take your car for a test drive. You'll need to make sure that they're insured to do this or get your car insured for test drivers to be on the safe side.
Tip 8
With private buyers and large companies be prepared to haggle. Large companies know you want a simple sale so they'll try and buy your car for as little as possible so you might have to fight for your price.
Tip 9
Don't let go of your car until you've been paid. If you let someone drive away in your vehicle and you don't have the money, you could end up getting stiffed.
Tip 10
Instead of going through the rigmarole of following all these tips, avoid private sales or selling to a large company and choose Need To Sell My Car instead. We'll buy any car as long as it meets our criteria and we can guarantee you a quick, hassle free sale and a price that's right for you and you won't need to fix those bumps, pay for an upcoming MOT or worry about getting your money.

( 3 / 44 )Selling your car can be a complex business and it's often hard to work out whether you'll get a better deal by selling privately or to a dealer.
If you're planning to upgrade your vehicle and aren't sure which way to go to find out the pros and cons of selling privately.
The Pros:
One of the main reasons why people sell privately is because they may be able to get more money for their cars than they would if they sold to a dealer.
When you sell privately you can determine what the value of your vehicle is, rather than it being determined for you when it's assessed by a dealership. If you think your car is worth more than a dealer is willing to offer there's little room for negotiation.
When you choose a private sale you can opt for a quick cash payment rather than having to wait for money transfers or for cheques to clear.
The Cons
When you want to sell your car if you opt for a private sale you'll need to spend money repairing minor scratches and faults in order to get the best sale.
If you're MOT is coming up many private buyers would expect that to be paid for too whereas a dealer will take a car that's due for its MOT.
Selling privately can be risky, potential thieves can pose as buyers and you've got to trust a complete stranger to drive your car, and be insured for test drivers.
You'll have to spend money on advertising your car and use up your free time to meet potential buyers, then you'll have to go through the hassle of haggling on prices.
You might have to wait weeks and go through endless negotiations before you eventually get a sale.
Tips for Sellers
Whatever method you choose to sell your car, always ensure that you find out for yourself what the vehicle is worth before you talk about price. If you sell privately, never let a potential buyer test drive your vehicle alone and make sure that the money is in the bank before you part with your car.
Maintaining your car to a high standard while you own it is a great idea no matter who you sell to as the better a condition your car is in when you come to sell it, the more money you will get for it, leaving you with more to spend on your new vehicle.

( 2.9 / 42 )Selling your car would be a sure-fire way to get out of a financial tight spot. With these tough financial times, seeking the services of a dealer would take a lot of time, effort and of course, money. Settling for a quick sale or a clean trade is your best bet but, a little bit of effort could help you minimize a lot of waiting.
First of all, you need to find out just how much your car is worth at its current condition. A few online guides will be able to help you set up a reasonable price for your car. The next step is to figure out just how much you are going to ask from a customer. Allowing some room for negotiation is essential, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should shock the client with an exorbitant amount at first and then drop down. A couple of hundred pounds above your maximum expected price would be more than enough to let the customer settle on a price suitable for both of you quickly. Make sure not to advertise the lowest price as you will miss a great opportunity to sell with some negotiating power. Appearing to have a flexible price will please customers and allow them to settle for a price faster than if you stall a high price for days.
If you are on a tight time frame, and you want to go it alone then make sure to advertise as soon as you have made your decision to sell you car, or speak to a specialist car buyer. Some methods cost monry, others cost an investment of your time. You can use all possible methods such as notices, paper advertisements, social media and even your blog to attract as many potential customers as possible. Updating your status on facebook alone may attract inquiries from friends who are on the lookout for a new car. The advertising campaign has to be eye catching as you don’t have a lot of time to spend on the development. Sticking a for-sale notice on your back window is another method if you are looking to make a speedy sale.
If going through this process and the possible delays involved concern you then contacting a car buyer like www.needtosellmycar.co.uk can offer a credible alternative solution.

People who are looking for used cars generally tend to look for cars which still haven’t approached the 100,000 mile mark. ( 3 / 149 )Selling your car online is fast becoming preferable to taking it down to the local used car dealership or advertising in newspapers and other non-web media. The main advantage of selling your car online is the exposure that your car gets to thousands of internet users. There are some buyers who register at online car dealers looking for particular vehicle models which they want to buy. The only challenge in this case is getting to find a reputable online used car dealer. The choice you make can be good or bad for you depending on the reputation of said online used car dealer.
After selecting you preferred online used car dealer, then you have to give consideration to the kind of listing that you want to have for your car. Your objective is to make your car stand out from the hundreds of cars that are already listed at the site. Go through your car and identify features that make it different form other vehicles of the same model and year of manufacture. Maybe you had it pimped up a little. Describe the changes you made to the exterior and interior of the car. If you installed a DVD player, then it may be worth mentioning. If there are faults associated with the car, then it is the best policy to be honest about them from the word go. It would be very disappointing for a buyer to come and view the car, or take it for a road test, and then he/she realizes that you were not forthright about some of the perceived negative aspects of your car.
A very important consideration when you are looking to sell your car is the visual appeal; that it will have on the online listing that you choose. Photos must be taken in adequate lighting so that you bring out every aspect of the vehicle. It is preferable if you would look for an empty lot way from buildings and other distractions that will take the buyers eye away from the physical details of your car. Before taking the photos ensure that your car is spotless. When a user sees a clean well presented car on the web site, you can be sure that they will mark your car down for a physical visit in the soonest time possible.
